Update From Kathy

John is halfway through week one of treatment. It’s a small milestone but it feels like he’s cleared a huge hurdle. Last night was a tough one. John had a difficult time keeping his blood pressure down so his chemo treatment was given after he stabilized, at 12:30 AM! It made for a very long night. I sat and stared at him all night long (the same as you would a newborn baby). Even at 11 he is still my baby. At noon he had another treatment. It’s a blasting of the central nervous system with chemo. It’s administered through a lumbar puncture, while John is under general aesthesia. He is now back up in his room and feeling “cranky”.
Late this afternoon i will be heading over to the Ronald McDonald House. This will be our home away from home for the next 6 weeks. We’ll have a place to put our things and a kitchen to cook in (okay no jokes … I know most of you know I don’t cook). The good news is that when John is intermittently an “out patient” we will stay there as a family!
Thank you again for all of the love and support! Rich & I are so blessed to have such supportive family and friends.

Hi Kathy and Rich I don't know if chad to you or not but my sister is one of the south Florida directors of L.L.S . Me and my sister are running a 13.1 in Disney in honor of John called the wine and dine. WE WILL FIND A CURE AND BEAT THIS..

I met your dad and sister Angee yesterday. Loved talking to your sister. There are so many people praying for John and your family. The only difference with our children getting older is that it is harder to hold them, but they never stop being our baby. I hugged your sister when I left your house. Hugs to you too my friend. I am here for you. Prayers of healing, strength, and peace.

I hope you are hanging in there. I'm glad to see you are all together at the Ronald McDonald house now. I love the haircuts what have you done to yours? Remember if there is anything I can do for you here I will. I don't know how comfortable Isabella would be but remember I have two free bedrooms here and we would be more than happy for to stay with us. Can't guarantee she would not watch too much MTV with the girls but she will be safe and definitely entertained. Hugs and many prayers your way.
Kathy and Rich: Kathy Wilson just filled me in about John's diagnosis and this website. While I'm so sorry to hear you're undergoing this trial, I feel confident you'll make it through stronger and healthier to the other side. Be good to yourselves, and keep sticking together! hi my darling John, I think of you every single day. I smile when I imagine your mohawk. Mama did a great job. Just think how much fun she probably had doing papa's. Papou has been busy looking for a new place for us to live. Since our home is sold it's something he has to do. I think in a way he is having a good time. I am just now starting to feel better after my surgery. I am almost as strong as you are. I hope you and Bella are having a really special time together. Maybe I will try some 'face time' in the morning. We love you so much, noni

Kathy and Rich, My mom filled me in and just gave me this website. We asked our priest to read some special healing prayers for John. Know that you are in our thoughts every day. Your strength and John's is amazing. I haven't seen John in years and I can't believe how grown up he looks! What a handsome young man.
