Day 3 Update
March 29, 2012
We are on day 3 of what they call the induction phase of John’s treatment protocol. This phase will last a total of six and a half weeks and will be performed in its entirety here at St Jude’s.
John has chemotherapy treatments and countless other treatments to protect his healthy organs. The protection of John’s organs is critical to the recovery process and something they focus on a lot here at St Jude’s.
He is responding to the chemotherapy and his “numbers” are moving in the right direction. That is great news!
The staff here at St Jude’s is world class. The doctors are the best, the nurses are the best, and the Starbucks baristas are the best.
No child should have to bare such a burden. We are in awe of John’s strength and inspired by his UNSTOPPABLE DETERMINATION!
Thank you for all of the email and posts! Thank you for your love, support and prayers!

I have not talk to you in a while, but you are part of a great family who we will be looking over you and until you are back playing soccer. All of us in Florida are watching over you and we all know you are a champ and you will show everyone how big and strong you are and what a brave sole. I have been telling Chad that you need to get down to Florida to go mudding in his truck and four wheeler. I'll send some video of him slugging mud all over the place.
I'll be up their soon. You are such a brave and strong person taking this small delay in live with your busy time. I love seeing pictures of you and Bella.
Wait till you see coop he is a trip, just love's chasing toys and when you don't pay attention he just sits there and back until you throw the ball.
As I see you have allot of friends behind you. Keep strong and let me know if you need anything. Oh take care of dad and mom. I see you are a Starbucks fan.
A word of wisdom
“Every night as you close your eyes you see a vision of tomorrow’s good things in life.”
The times when we fall sick are some of the hardest times to go through in life. Particularly if it is a sickness that disrupts the course of your normal life and you find that you are confined by it. Sometimes it’s not the medication that helps but words of encouragement during sickness. One thing that I can tell you is that no matter what your affliction is, there is still reason to hope.
Signing off now Love You your Grand Dad Big Rich
